I love the nature of this, which for a nature photograph is kind of a poor choice of words. But the intrinsic quality of the veins of the structure in conjunction with the softness of the background and selective depth of field just ties this all together in such a organic way. It almost appears more like sculpture than like a simple photograph. Very beautiful!

I've never used a macro lens, the closest I've gotten is jury-rigging one by holding a regular lens against the camera backwards. It works fairly well.

I've seen a few people using the reversed lens, I might try playing around with it sometime too!

It should work as long as you have the lens on the widest aperture.

Is it a seed pod? Idon't take this the wrong way, but I can't exactly tell (I like it that way though! It adds a bit of mystery to it.)
